June Week 1 Mini Goals

I've tried making month long goals, but I usually forget about them pretty quickly.  I blame old age.  I'm going to set some mini goals for the week.

1) Stay in my calorie range.

I'm supposed to stay at about 1600 calories a day.  As you can see, I've been going over that by quite a bit.

I've been tracking my foods and workouts on My Fitness Pal for about a month or so. My problem has been staying in my calories. I haven't lost weight in about two or three weeks, because I have been eating like every meal is my last meal!  I need to buckle down and eat better!

2) Swim and Bike

I have a Tri in August, so I really think I should start swimming and biking. I haven't done either of them in a couple of months.  I was focused on my half plan and was too tired/lazy to work on any other sports.

3) Finish Born to Run

Born to Run

I have had this book forever!  I got it from the library and have renewed it 3 times. It's due on June 5, so my goal is to finish it so I don't have to renew it again.

4) Continue with plank a day

I had gotten up to 6 days of planks. This morning I woke up and realized that I completely forgot to do one yesterday! Whomp, whomp. I have no memory. Hopefully, I can remember to continue with them through the week.

What are your goals for this week?  This month?

Oh No She Di-int!

The last few weeks I've started tracking my food and workouts using My Fitness Pal.  I've tried using it a few years ago and didn't really like it.  After using Spark for a while, I found one thing I like better about MFP.  When I work out, they add those calories to my daily calories that I can eat.  With Spark, I just go over a ton when I have my long runs and it makes me feel like I ate too much.

Another thing I like better is the barcode scanner.  With Spark, everything I would try to scan was something I would have to enter all the information for.  MFP seems to have a larger data base.  Everything I've scanned so far has already been entered by someone.

At the end of each day, when everything is entered, I like that it will tell me how much I will weigh in 5 weeks if I continue on the same track.  It's just interesting to see.

Tracking!

So, for now, I am on the MFP train.  I hope it lasts and I start losing some weight!  My user name is jnbrigs if you want to add me as a friend!

On another sort of related front, tonight after work, I said no to peanut M&M's, because I knew that I was already over my calories for the day. Yay me!

Here's to a great rest of the week!
