New Blog Jo Mo Runs

So, I've been MIA for a few weeks.  I got married! Yay!  The fam and I went to Vegas for the wedding and for celebrating!

Ever since I titled this blog, I haven't really liked it.  It was a sort of spur of the moment thing.  Now, with my married name, I have a fun nickname - Jomo, for Jordan Molina.  My sister in law gave it to me and it stuck.  I thought it would be a catchy title, so I just created a new blog page where that can be my url.

So, come continue to follow my running adventures at http://jomoruns.blogspot.com/ and read Jo Mo Runs!

June Week 1 Mini Goals

I've tried making month long goals, but I usually forget about them pretty quickly.  I blame old age.  I'm going to set some mini goals for the week.

1) Stay in my calorie range.

I'm supposed to stay at about 1600 calories a day.  As you can see, I've been going over that by quite a bit.

I've been tracking my foods and workouts on My Fitness Pal for about a month or so. My problem has been staying in my calories. I haven't lost weight in about two or three weeks, because I have been eating like every meal is my last meal!  I need to buckle down and eat better!

2) Swim and Bike

I have a Tri in August, so I really think I should start swimming and biking. I haven't done either of them in a couple of months.  I was focused on my half plan and was too tired/lazy to work on any other sports.

3) Finish Born to Run

Born to Run

I have had this book forever!  I got it from the library and have renewed it 3 times. It's due on June 5, so my goal is to finish it so I don't have to renew it again.

4) Continue with plank a day

Source

I had gotten up to 6 days of planks. This morning I woke up and realized that I completely forgot to do one yesterday! Whomp, whomp. I have no memory. Hopefully, I can remember to continue with them through the week.

What are your goals for this week?  This month?

Shopping Saturday

Yesterday I got a ton done!  I made a list and got everything but one thing finished off of it.  For some reason, I am way more productive that way.

I had an eye appointment, went to Hobby Lobby, walked to the library and back (thus knocking off two things at once), went to Target, Walgreen's, and picked up lunch for Kevin.

Later on, right after I had eaten supper, Kevin's parents called and invited us to dinner.  I went and had a drink since I was still full.  This place has the best Strawberry Margarita's.  They are so sweet, I don't even taste the alcohol.

We went back to his parent's house for dessert where his dad insisted that I try this frozen slushy drink.  It was really good!  By then, I was starting to feel the alcohol a bit since I basically never drink.

Yum
One pouch fits right into a glass.  How convenient!

I had plans today too.  My mom and I had some running around to do.  We had bought some flowers at Hobby Lobby and they were on sale now, so we got a price adjustment.  Then we shopped for 4 hours for things for our trip.  We both found shoes, and my mom found a dress and a couple of shirts.

My mom found some shoes she just loved.  They were purple, like her dress, but just a bit too high.

She went with some cute, strappy, black ones.

I started reading The Hunger Fix by Pam Peeke.  It's a three stage detox and recovery plan for overeating and food addiction.  I've read the first chapter and was surprised that the forward is written by Tara Costa from the Biggest Loser.  I am interested to see what she has to say.  I'm sure it will come down to clean eating since all the additives and sugars in food keeps us addicted to them.  I'm hoping to get some coping techniques on how to manage my food addiction better.  I'll give my thoughts once I've actually read it.

Tomorrow is my last fun run until my marathon training officially starts.

Happy Saturday!

Have you ever struggled with food addiction?
